Research interests

I am interested in studying the brain in pathological conditions with translational approaches. During my PhD (CEA, Université Paris Saclay) and my first post-doc (University of Edinburgh), I focussed on understanding the mechanisms that drive neuronal death and disease progression in neurodegenerative diseases, and more specifically tauopathies.

My current work in the lab aims at reprogramming directly in vivo glial cells into induced neurons within the diseased brain and study how those can: (1) acquire the same molecular identity and phenotype as lost neurons and (2) functionally integrate into endogenous neuronal networks - those two conditions being a prerequisite for potential functional recovery.
