Research interest

The goal of my Phd is to create a programm for a human-robot intercation (HRI).

The main characteristics of it are:

* The robot has to learn via the interaction with the user.
* The user is a naive personn, no computer science knowledge is necessary.
* The robot has to create new representations for each behavior.
* The user can reuse these representations.
* The interaction has to be as fluently as possible.

In order to achieve this aim, I don't adopt a classical AI point of view but rather "developmental robotics" one (see "Developmental robotics: a survey" Lungarella et al. 2004). This approach involve the concepts of embodiment, emergence, dynamic and "In each of these areas, we highlight the implications and attendant problems of adopting a developmental approach, both from phylogenetic and ontogenetic points of view" (see "A Survey of Artificial Cognitive Systems" Vernon et al. 2006). Moreover, to link the cognitive field to the computer science and to create a formal model, I'm in line with the inductive learning (see "Apprentissage artificel" Cornuéjols and Miclel 2002).
